With Through the lens of…, we invite you to experience our exhibitions from the perspective of a wide variety of disciplines and lived experience. During this event, literary and cultural scholar Alexandra Ganser will guide you through our current exhibition She, Who Dwells in the Shadows and, drawing on her research on North American literature, culture, and mobility, will share her personal perspective on the art works on display.

The group exhibition She, Who Dwells in the Shadows, curated by Kinnari Saraiya, explores the potential of the dark and the obscure. It focuses on stories and forms of knowledge that exist outside official archives and are passed down through practices of storytelling, embodiment, and cosmological imagination. Alexandra Ganser is a professor of North American literature and culture at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna. Her research focuses on mobility studies in literary and cultural studies, interdisciplinary futures studies (particularly astrofuturism), popular culture studies, Indigenous studies, and gender studies.
