Through the lens of...
With Through the lens of…, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich invites you to experience its exhibitions from the perspectives of diverse disciplines and backgrounds. This time, political educator Stefanie Fridrik from the Democracy Center Vienna will guide you through our exhibition Attitude Era. Co‑curated by Frederike Sperling and Pia Wamsler, the group exhibition Attitude Era explores the relationship between reality and fiction in an age shaped by algorithmic attention economies. During her tour, Fridrik will introduce the exhibition’s themes and highlight how the presented works relate to current debates on democracy, media literacy, and political communication.
The event is a cooperation between the Democracy Center Vienna and Kunstraum Niederoesterreich. The Democracy Center Vienna is an independent research institution dedicated to democracy studies and civic education. You can find more information about the Democracy Center Vienna here.
The tour will be given in German. Participation is free of charge, no registration required.
Stefanie Fridrik works as a research associate and trainer at the Democracy Center Vienna and is currently pursuing a PhD in art education at HFBK Hamburg. In her dissertation, she examines the challenges and potentials of educational settings in which political education and artistic activism intersect. She investigates what form political education can take when it seeks an aesthetic language of its own, and which negotiation processes become particularly salient in this context.
