Creative Writing Workshop
As part of the exhibition She, Who Dwells in the Shadows artist Noushin Redjaian invites you to a creative writing workshop dedicated to jointly exploring the possibilities of storytelling and poetry in the interplay of darkness, memory, and imagination.
Based on the themes of the exhibition, the workshop explores writing as a practice of searching and listening: How can we capture fragmented stories, repressed myths, or speculative futures in language? What forms of storytelling emerge when orientation is based not on clarity and visibility, but on atmosphere, intuition, and the very search for clues?
Through short writing exercises, poetic experiments, and shared reading, you will develop your own texts that deal, for instance, with shadow zones, ambiguity, and non-linear narratives. The workshop understands writing as a collective space for thought in which language can open up new approaches to memory, physicality, and possible worlds.
The workshop will be held in German and is open to anyone interested – no prior knowledge is required.
Duration: 2 hours
Noushin Redjaian (born in 1988 in Graz, Austria; lives and works in Vienna) studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the classes of Bernhard Willhelm and Hussein Chalayan (fashion/design), Jan Svenungsson (graphic design and printmaking), and Brigitte Kowanz (transmedia art). Inspired by cultural history and poetry, Noushin Redjaian explores the natural beauty of materials and their symbolic meaning. She deals with the transcendent nature of symbolic language and its preservation, creating objects and sculptures that connect the past and the future. This gives rise to sensations between intuition and memory – a world of hidden symbols and ciphers that refer to the regional and cultural roots of each artifact.
