H13– LOWER AUSTRIA PRIZE FOR PERFORMANCE

In 2021, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich will announce the H13 - Lower Austria Prize for Performance for the fifteenth time. Performance is a form of expression. As a multifaceted form with differences in staging and content, it has a long tradition in Austrian art and has undergone a progressive revision in art history in recent years. With the H13 Art Prize, an emphasis is put on the performative works of the younger generation.

REWARD
  • The H13 2021 is rewarded with € 5,000
  • The winning performance will be performed on WE, 01 09 2021 in Kunstraum Niederoesterreich.
  • For the production of the performance, a € 2,000 budget (excluding VAT) is available.
  • Kunstraum Niederoesterreich can provide a (time restricted) team of technicians by arrangement.


PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

  • The open call is for all artists who have lived and worked in Austria for at least two years.
  • Every application is made without legal recourse. With their participation, all applicants acknowledge the decision of the jury. The applicant must be the author (Copyright Act, Section 10, Paragraph 1).
  • The submitted concepts should reflect and consider the spatial conditions of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich. Floor plan of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich (not obligatory to use) as well as a list of available technical equipment, to download here.
  • The submitted performances (in the form of concepts) may not be publicly performed until 01 09 2021.

 

SUBMISSION
The submission must be completed by TU, 20 04 2021 and include the following information:

 

  • Title of the submitted concept
  • Description of content: The concept of the performance for Kunstraum Niederoesterreich in written form with max. 2 pages (as well as sketches, photos, etc.)
  • Cost calculation (within a maximum of € 2,000) of the production of the performance (including assembly and dismantling, transportation, additional technical equipment, etc.)

  • Portfolio


JURY

The Jury for the year 2021 includes:

  • Madeleine Amsler (Curator, Lecturer & Coordinator of the Performance Prize Switzerland)
  • Katharina Brandl (Artistic Director, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich)
  • Kira Kirsch (Artistic & Managing Director brut Vienna)
  • Petra Poelzl (Artistic & Managing Director Kunstpavillon & Neue Galerie, Innsbruck)

 

The jury's decision is incontestable and final.
The winner will be notified by May 10th, 2021.
