When thought becomes matter and matter turns into thought.
Opening: 6 June 2013, 19.00
with an introduction by Andreas Spiegl
Duration: 7 June – 27 July 2013
After Judith Fegerl’s SELF and most recently Bernhard Hosa’s framework in 2012, this year the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich is showing the work of Nikolaus Gansterer, who in 2009 received the Lower Austria Appreciation Prize for Visual Art. In his transmedia work, the artist, born in Klosterneuburg in 1974, concerns himself with the translatability of scientific approaches into a cultural environment and as a result reveals inherent. structures of interconnectedness.
Gansterer carries out fundamental research in the field of creative working processes. The title of the exhibition in the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich is programmatic: When thought becomes matter and matter turns into thought. Thought processes temporarily assume form and material and become the starting points for new lines of thought. An independent cosmos of works emerges in which they repeatedly refer to one another.
