Archive: Performance Series #3: As Can Be Seen From
In line with the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich’s focus on performance art, alongside the award of the H13 Lower Austria Performance Prize, on three evenings in spring 2015 performances in the series “Performance Series #3: as can be seen from” will be presented. Owing to the high quality and increasing number of submissions for the H13 Lower Austria Performance Prize, the curators Anat Stainberg and Peter Kozek have incorporated projects from it in the programme.
Under the titles “SPOT ON ME” and “On and beyond a Stage”, they dedicate the first two evenings to making the formal implementation and visual perception of temporally based works visible. Both the approach to the venue and the architecture as well as the optical and acoustic involvement of the audience are major questions raised and are variously interpreted by the performers.
For the final evening, “Alice Tolkas reads her famous hashish fudge recipe”, the Zurich performance artist and theoretician Romy Rüegger has been invited to present performative works from Switzerland. She addresses the presence and absence of the performers themselves, works with gaps, quotes, visual references and the presentation of inclusion and exclusion.
The project is part of Destination Wien 2015 EXTENDED.
