Programme presentation 2021

A hard year has passed! Perhaps you have asked yourself how resilient you have been through the crises and shocks of 2020? We do the same and choose our neologism Re_silly_ence as guiding theme for the 2021 annual programme of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich.

It seems natural to reflect on questions of resilience in our present when our vulnerability - both social and personal - has so clearly been demonstrated. How lasting will social relations, our fundamental  values such as the rule of law, but also the cultural sector be changed by the crisis? Is there even the possibility of change or has the end already come?

In 2021, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich will be 16 years old - so we are still in the middle of puberty. We are rebellious, we laugh at our own jokes, we are sometimes too loud and never too quiet, we are melancholic and cheerful at the same time, we reckon with the apocalypse every day and yet we are hopelessly optimistic, knowing that great things are in store for us (yes, for us!). We are re_silly_ent.

With this in mind, we cordially invite you to the presentation of our annual programme, which will take place on TU, 12 01 2021 at 10:00 am online. In addition to the four new exhibition projects of the upcoming year we will also introduce the performance series Sweet Sixteen, with which we are celebrating our 16th birthday.
