Event in cooperation with the art history festival kunst.wollen
SA, 21 05 2022, 1:00-3:00 pm
In this talk, Katharina Brandl, artistic director of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich with moderation by art mediator Laura Birschitzky, will discuss the process of an exhibition, the occupational fields of the Kunstraum and any uncertainties regarding job titles in art and culture businesses. After all, if you want to find (jobs), you have to know what you're looking for. The event is aimed at all young professionals who have ever wondered, for example, what the difference is between assistant curator and curatorial assistant, what publication managers do all day and whether only technicians are allowed to work in production departments.
Kunstraum Niederoesterreich serves as a case study. Using a timeline, an exhibition is outlined from its beginnings to its conclusion. In doing so, the professional fields of the Kunstraum are presented and it becomes apparent how their fields of activity intertwine within an exhibition.
The art history festival kunst.wollen by students for students offers a look behind the scenes of important institutions of the Viennese art and cultural landscape through workshops, lectures and guided tours by experts, networking with other students outside the everyday university life, and thereby informs about professional fields for art historians.
The talk will be held in German.
We ask here for registration from May 1st, 2022 directly at the art history festival kunst.wollen.
