The project MINE by Sara Lanner, winner of this year’s H13 Niederoesterreich Prize for Performance, will be performed for the first time on September 8, 2021. It explores our relationship with one another and with our environment, while negotiating the ethical implications of global mining processes on the basis of a folding sculpture. In cooperation with a second performer, Costas Kekis, Sara Lanner’s project takes her investigations into acts of extraction, digging, and redeployment to an interpersonal level: How can information be extracted from one body to another without being invasive? Which reciprocal dependencies, which images of collaboration emerge?

On September 8, 2021, Sara Lanner’s performance invites visitors to a complex space in which two seemingly contradictory investigations converge: mining as the destructive extraction of resources and mining as a form of interpersonal referencing.

Registration for the performance: Due to the measures to contain COVID-19, registration for the  event is mandatory. Please register HERE.
