GUERILLA GIRLS: Today I don't have a photo for you! (But a price!)

Since 2007 the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich has awarded the H13 Lower Austria Prize for Performance, to-date the only prize for performance in Austria. The decision is made by an international jury of theoreticians, artists, and Kunstraum staff, which is composed each year anew.

After this year's award ceremony on September 4, 2019 for the award-winning performance Woman to Woman II by the artist Helena Eribenne, the third of our Guerilla Girls workshops for girls will take place: With the words "Today I don't have a photo for you" Heidi Klum says goodbye to candidates from the show "Germany's Next Top Model". Apart from casting shows and reality TV, we ask ourselves: When are we judged by whom and under what criteria? What does judging actually mean? After the H13 Lower Prize for Performance was awarded, we are our own bosses and the best jury in the country! In the workshop the participants build prizes for their best, worst, funniest and dearest qualities and abilities. Who is the arm wrestling champion? And who sneezes the loudest? We democratize the world of prizes: Awards for everyone!

GUERILLA GIRLS.
Girls Workshops in Kunstraum Niederoesterreich

Already in the 1980’s, the artist group Guerilla Girls asked the question "Do women have to be naked to get into the museum?" Named after the feminist pioneers who have been surveying representation in the field of art for thirty years, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich's GUERILLA GIRLS Workshop series provides a selective offer for girls in order to discuss issues such as emancipation and self-determination with young women.

The girls-workshop series GUERILLA GIRLS is being held in Vienna in cooperation with the Hil Foundation (Mädchenbeirat) and the MA 57  – Frauen in Wien (Promotion and Co-ordination of Women’s Issues).

If you are interested in a workshop, girls’ clubs and girls' groups are welcome to contact us. Participation is free!
