Öffentliche Führung von Kuratorin Ursula Maria Probst durch die Ausstellung: TOUCH THE REALITY. RETHINKING KEYWORDS OF POLITICAL PERFORMANCE

Mit „Touch the Reality. Rethinking Keywords of Political Performance“ setzt Kuratorin Ursula Maria Probst teils laute, teils aber auch subtile Interventionen in Beziehung zueinander, macht sich auf die Spurensuche nach Praktiken politischer Performance heute.
Schwerpunkt ist Kunst aus Kuba von Tania Bruguera, Fidel García, Susana Pilar, Grethell Rasúa und Dania González Sanabria, aber auch Künstler_innen aus arabischen, lateinamerikanischen, asiatischen und osteuropäischen Ländern sowie Österreich sind vertreten. Darüber hinaus sind die beteiligten Künstler_innen eingeladen, vor Ort Projekte zu entwickeln. Kuratorin Ursula Maria Probst war 2015 Kuratorin der österreichischen Beiträge der Havanna-Biennale und recherchierte die Kunstszene in Kuba.

Während der Führung werden 2 kurze Performances stattfinden:

"Help! Help? Help.", 2016 Isaac Chong Wai

What does that mean to help and to be helped? Who should help and who should be helped? In this performance, performers are asked to lay on the ground and raise their hand waiting for people to pull them up. The gesture of reaching for "help" is constructed while the choreography questions the audience if they should "help" or not to "help". The word "help" is then questioned under the policy formed by the performance and ideology in which people tend to "help" to become the "helper" without being able to

"Hitting the body and touching the body", 2016 Isaac Chong Wai

Performers are asked to perform the movement of hitting an invisible body while they hit actually the air in slow motion. While they are “beating up” the invisible body, they are actually touching the invisible body as the movement of hitting someone is performed in slow motion dealing with the policy of attacking. When the speed is slow the attack becomes a touch while our body does generate certain choreography to adapt to certain ideology like the movement attacking. By deconstructing while reconstructing the movement of hitting and touching, an ambiguous choreography is presented to questions our general understanding of certain movement and its meaning.
