The relationship between space, time, image and viewer did and does continue to stand at the centre of interest of many of the protagonists who work in the context of conceptual and media-related art. The thematic fields hoed range from investigations of contextuality, the aesthetics of reception, and the production of meaning to issues, social and political in nature, both within and outside the confines of art, that are elaborated in the shape of installations, videos, sculptures and performances.

The artistic positions presented in this exhibition, including those of Famed, Anna Nizio, Marion Porten, Tilo Schulz, Tina Schulz, Christoph Weber, Clemens von Wedemeyer and Arthur Zalewski, provide a comprehensive overview of Leipzig artists working in the conceptual and media arts. The Laden für Nichts [Shop for Nothing], which has been playing an important role as a platform for the local art scene but also for the networking on an international plane, will take part in the exhibition featuring a series of 1 : 10 scale models, which were used by Leipzig artists to stage miniature exhibitions.
