The thirteen artists were selected by the Chinese curator Zuo Jing and the artist Sun Jianchun without any stipulations on the side of the Kunstraum Niederösterreich respecting theme, medium or the relative renown of the participants. Such an open invitation enables the artists from China to present themselves and their country according to their own ideas and without the compulsion to adapt their work to western preconceptions.
