Contemporary Baroque – this is how Liviana Dan, curator of the exhibition “…don´t complicate the sleeping baroque…” refers to the current trend of picking up artistic strategies and themes from the “first” baroque era of the 17th and 18th centuries, and modernising or adapting them to today’s requirements.

In their most recent works, Dumitru Gorzo and Gili Mocanu, two artists from Romania, have focused their attention on precisely these artistic strategies of the Baroque and put them to the test.
